Our client is a global organization undergoing a major cloud transformation initiative. The goal is to design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions leveraging AWS services to modernize infrastructure and enable advanced business capabilities.

Position overview

We are seeking an experienced AWS Solutions Lead – Infrastructure with expertise in migrating applications and databases to the AWS cloud using AWS Application Migration Service (MGN) and Amazon Relational Database Service (RDS). This role demands deep technical proficiency in these AWS services, along with strong problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication, and solid architectural design skills.

Given the close collaboration this position entails with the client and their customers, the selection process is comprehensive and structured, consisting of four interview stages.

Additionally, we welcome applications from senior or strong mid-level DevOps professionals who possess proven architecture design skills.

Responsibilities

Design and architect AWS infrastructure solutions incorporating AWS MGN and RDS, ensuring scalability, security, and operational excellence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (application owners, developers, DBAs) to understand migration requirements and translate them into robust AWS designs.
Plan and execute application migration projects using AWS MGN, ensuring minimal downtime and seamless transition.
Design and implement secure network architectures for migrated applications and RDS instances using VPC, Security Groups, and NACLs.
Architect and implement highly available, scalable relational database solutions using Amazon RDS with fault tolerance and efficient replication.
Develop data migration strategies from on-premises or other cloud environments to AWS RDS, ensuring integrity and minimal downtime.
Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for applications and RDS environments using AWS Backup and Elastic Disaster Recovery.
Optimize AWS infrastructure for cost-efficiency using AWS Trusted Advisor, Budgets, and Cost Explorer.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship on AWS MGN, RDS, and best practices.
Automate AWS infrastructure using CloudFormation, CodePipeline, and CodeDeploy.
Monitor and maintain migrated applications and RDS instances using CloudWatch, Config, and CloudTrail for performance, security, and compliance.

Requirements

13+ years of IT Infrastructure experience and 5+ years in AWS infrastructure design and implementation, focusing on AWS MGN and RDS.
Solid understanding of AWS MGN migration strategies and workflows.
Extensive experience with RDBMS and Amazon RDS (provisioning, scaling, backup, maintenance).
Strong knowledge of AWS services: EC2, VPC, ELB, Auto Scaling, CloudFormation, and networking.
Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK).
Strong scripting skills (Python or Bash).
Experience with Docker and AWS EKS.
Knowledge of AWS security best practices (IAM, Security Groups, NACLs).
Familiarity with AWS Well-Architected Framework principles.
Experience migrating applications and databases from on-premises or other clouds to AWS.
