Project overview

The program is a multi phase data migration initiative aimed at replacing legacy capital markets systems with a modern platform ecosystem. It includes the migration of critical datasets across custody, clearing and settlement, derivatives processing, and CCP operations. The project spans 18 months and follows an incremental approach with strong emphasis on data integrity, reconciliation, and traceability.

Team

You will work within a cross functional team including data engineers, data analysts, and domain experts from capital markets. The role has a strong influence on architectural decisions and works closely with engineering teams to ensure alignment between data modeling, transformation pipelines, and business requirements.

Position overview

We are looking for a Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of data models within a large scale data migration program in a capital markets environment.

This role is responsible for defining the target data architecture, ensuring consistency and scalability across datasets, and enabling reliable data foundations for critical systems such as custody, clearing and settlement, derivatives, and central counterparty operations.

You will act as a key bridge between business and technology, translating complex domain requirements into structured, reusable, and high quality data models.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable data models aligned with business and analytical needs
  • Define target data architecture for migration from legacy systems
  • Analyze current data structures and identify gaps, inconsistencies, and improvement opportunities
  • Translate complex business requirements into structured and reusable data models
  • Define and enforce best practices in data modeling, documentation, and governance
  • Collaborate with data engineers to align on data transformations, quality, and upstream dependencies
  • Establish data standards, reusable templates, and scalable design patterns
  • Ensure data consistency, traceability, and integrity across migration phases
  • Drive data quality initiatives and promote data governance practices
  • Support project planning and prioritization based on impact, scalability, and data dependencies
  • Promote data literacy and data driven decision making across teams

Requirements

  • Strong expertise in SQL and relational data modeling
  • Hands on experience with AWS Glue and cloud based data processing
  • Experience with dbt for data transformations and modeling
  • Proven experience designing data warehouses and scalable data models
  • Strong understanding of data transformation pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD principles in data environments
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, and documentation frameworks
  • Experience working in complex, data intensive environments

Nice to have

  • Experience in capital markets (custody, clearing, settlement, derivatives, CCP)
  • Experience with large scale data migration programs
  • Familiarity with Oracle based legacy systems
  • Knowledge of data lineage and metadata management tools
  • Experience defining enterprise data architecture standards
