Technology stack
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain COBOL applications on the IBM i platform
- Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Write, test, and debug code to support new and existing functionality
- Investigate and resolve production issues to ensure system stability
- Work with DB2 400 databases, including writing and optimizing SQL queries
- Manage and support batch processing and job scheduling activities
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements where needed
- Collaborate with analysts, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver reliable solutions
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation aligned with development standards
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with COBOL programming
- Proven experience working on IBM i (AS400) systems
- Solid understanding of DB2/400 and SQL
- Experience with batch jobs and transaction processing systems
- Familiarity with debugging and performance tuning on AS400
- Experience in production support environments
Nice to have
- Experience in banking or financial services systems
- Basic knowledge of RPG or CL
- Familiarity with system integration and data interfaces
