The project involves developing robust backend services and tools that support complex workflows. You’ll help maintain and enhance a Ruby application that keeps products running smoothly.

Position overview

We are looking for a Senior Ruby Developer with strong backend engineering skills and experience in scripting applications. This role requires proficiency in Ruby, Java, and modern observability tools. You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team, share ideas, and help improve processes as we grow.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement backend services and scripting applications using Ruby and Java.
  • Develop and maintain CLI tools and automation scripts (STDIN/OUT handling).
  • Ensure system observability and performance monitoring using Prometheus and Grafana.
  • Work on XML data manipulation and integration tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize concurrency issues (threads and processes).
  • Contribute to containerization and deployment using Docker/Podman and GCP environments.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and solution design.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in software development.
  • 3+ years working with Ruby (or Rails).
  • 2+ years working with Java.
  • Strong experience with scripting applications (CLI, STDIN/OUT).
  • Hands-on experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
  • Experience with XML manipulation.
  • Familiarity with concurrency (Ruby threads and processes).
  • Experience with Docker/Podman and GCP (VM instances).

Nice to have

  • Experience with port mapping (Nmap) and low-level protocols (ICMP, TCP, etc..)
  • Experience with concurrency (Ruby threads and processes)
