Client

Our client is one of the world’s top 20 investment companies headquartered in Great Britain. The organization is undergoing a major transformation, consolidating external and internal data sources into a unified ecosystem provided by an external vendor that aggregates all essential market, portfolio, and reference data.

Team

The successful candidate will join the data team and communicate closely with data engineers, developers, and business users to understand business needs and design highly reliable data products and solutions. The role sits at the intersection of technology and investment management - supporting day to day (“business as usual”) data operations and driving improvements in data quality.

Position overview

As a Business Analyst for a top 20 global investment firm, you will work on projects that enhance data availability and accuracy across the investment platform following the company’s data strategy and policies. You will collaborate with portfolio managers, product teams, and the data workstream to address complex data issues, deliver solutions that support asset management processes, and implement Data Governance practices.

Responsibilities

Communicate with portfolio managers, traders, and product owners to clarify and document data and reporting requirements
Perform gap analysis and define requirements for implementing automated data quality and reconciliation checks
Prepare and maintain data mappings between internal systems and vendor platforms
Analyze database schemas, structures, and SQL scripts to investigate data discrepancies
Support the design and documentation of ETL and API processes, collaborating with engineering teams on automation and integration solutions
Identify opportunities to improve investment data workflows and enhance data consistency across the investment ecosystem
Identify data domains, subdomains, and data owners
Contribute with the adoption of the company’s data strategy, including the adoption of the Data Masters
Perform Data Protection Impact Assessments

Requirements

Hands on experience in the Asset Management domain (CFA certification is a plus)
3+ years of experience working in projects with large volumes of data and different data formats
Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables
Experience with data schema design and data modelling, data mappings
Experience with API investigation
Experience with SQL
Experience with data modeling
Experience in data warehousing/dimension modelling, reporting and business intelligence
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong communication skills and fluent spoken English
