Position overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead and coordinate a large-scale engineering transformation focused on migrating a 10+ year legacy monolithic platform to a modern microservices architecture across a 300+ engineer organization.

In this role, you will bring structure, visibility, and accountability to a complex modernization initiative spanning dozens of engineering teams. You will be responsible for driving program execution, tracking progress against key milestones, managing cross-team dependencies, identifying and mitigating risks, and providing clear executive-level reporting. Success in this role requires strong stakeholder management, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to influence teams and leaders across the organization without direct authority.

This is a strategic program leadership role focused on coordination, governance, and execution rather than hands-on technical design or software development.

Responsibilities

Drive program execution for a large-scale monolith modernization and microservices migration initiative across multiple engineering teams.
Track migration progress, milestones, risks, blockers, and cross-functional dependencies.
Partner with Engineering Managers, Directors, Architects, and senior leadership to align plans, priorities, and delivery timelines.
Lead regular program reviews and governance forums to ensure consistent progress and accountability.
Develop and present executive-level status updates, dashboards, and program health reports.
Facilitate quarterly planning, capacity planning, roadmap alignment, and long-term program governance.
Monitor and mitigate risks through proactive RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) management.
Drive coordination across teams to resolve impediments and maintain delivery momentum.

Requirements

7+ years of Technical Program Management or Project Management experience within software engineering organizations.
Proven success leading large, cross-functional engineering programs involving multiple teams and stakeholders.
Strong understanding of software architecture concepts, legacy application modernization, and microservices migration programs.
Experience with dependency management, milestone planning, RAID tracking, executive reporting, and program governance.
Demonstrated ability to influence and align teams without direct authority.
Exceptional communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
Hands-on experience using AI-powered productivity tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms.

Nice to have

Experience leading monolith decomposition or large-scale modernization initiatives.
Background working in microservices-based environments.
Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and related project management tools.
Experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated industries.
