Project overview

This role works closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to gather and document requirements, create user stories, and define testing criteria for the client’s e-commerce application during development and testing phases. The position supports ensuring that the solution aligns with business needs and delivers value effectively.

Position overview

The Business Analyst collaborates with business stakeholders and technical experts to gather, assess, and document requirements for customizing and configuring the client’s e-commerce platform. This includes creating user stories, test scenarios, and validation criteria, contributing to the success of the development and testing lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and document business requirements using various elicitation techniques.
  • Ensure requirements are clear, complete, and aligned with organizational goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases following agile methodologies.
  • Collaborate closely with technical teams and stakeholders to refine, prioritize, and manage the product backlog.
  • Participate actively in sprint planning, review, and retrospective meetings.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and functional testing to validate platform compliance with requirements.
  • Identify, escalate, and communicate potential issues, risks, or changes impacting project delivery.
  • Provide training and support to business users to facilitate effective platform adoption.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in e-commerce and finance domains.
  • Hands-on experience with e-commerce platforms; experience with BigCommerce is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of finance operations and business processes in addition to e-commerce platform customization capabilities.
  • Proven expertise in crafting user stories, acceptance criteria, and test cases using agile methodologies and relevant tools.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering quality outcomes on time and within budget.
