They create next‑generation curriculum and formative assessment solutions, offering interactive products designed for both teachers and students. Their programs support learners from elementary through high school and are used in all 50 states, across 21,000+ schools, serving over 10 million students.

Position overview

We are looking for a highly skilled Full‑Stack Engineer to join a growing team supporting a leading U.S. education technology company. In this role, you will design and build scalable, high‑performance backend and frontend solutions using modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies.

You will work across a cloud‑native architecture, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to solve complex technical challenges, improve system reliability, and drive technical excellence.

This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys ownership, thrives in active development environments, and is eager to contribute to impactful educational products used by millions of students nationwide.

Technology stack

Languages & Frameworks: Node.js, JavaScript, Python
APIs: RESTful APIs, GraphQL
Data Stores: PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Snowflake
Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (AppSync, Lambda), Serverless, Terraform, Datadog
Testing: Jest, WebdriverIO, automated testing practices

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable, high-performance solutions using JavaScript / TypeScript
Lead technical decisions in Node.js backend development and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React)
Identify and resolve performance, scalability, reliability, and security issues across complex systems
Participate in and drive code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical improvements
Improve system observability, monitoring, logging, and error handling
Ensure high code quality through testing, documentation, and CI/CD practices

Requirements

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent degree
5+ years of professional software development experience
2+ years experience with Typescript
2+ years experience with a modern frontend framework (e.g. React)
Experience with NodeJS server-side development
Experience with database technologies (ideally NoSql DBs and MongoDB)
Experience (professional or personal) with using and integrating the latest AI coding technologies: e.g. LLMs, Model Context Protocol, Claude Code, Github Copilot
Strong problem solving ability and experience working within complex systems and large code bases
Strong communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work in a self-driven way
