Project overview

We are looking for a Senior React-focused Design System Engineer to help build scalable and reusable frontend foundations for modern digital products. The role focuses on creating reusable component libraries, customizing design systems at the theme level, and developing reusable product templates for workflows such as search, booking, and payment experiences.

You will work closely with stakeholders, designers, and engineering teams to ensure consistency, scalability, and high quality across multiple products and brands.

Position overview

The ideal candidate has strong expertise in React and TypeScript, hands-on experience with design systems and frontend architecture, and the ability to work independently with stakeholders. This role requires close collaboration with design teams in Figma, ownership of component documentation, and experience building scalable UI solutions for multi-brand or white-label products.

Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable reusable component libraries using React and TypeScript
Customize and extend off-the-shelf design systems at the theme level
Build reusable product templates and workflows, including search, booking, and payment flows
Collaborate with designers in Figma to ensure accurate implementation of UI components and design patterns
Create and maintain Storybook documentation and UI documentation portals
Define and maintain frontend and UI architecture standards
Support multi-brand and white-label product requirements
Ensure consistency, accessibility, and scalability across frontend solutions
Work independently with stakeholders to gather requirements and drive technical decisions
Contribute to localization and internationalization support across products

Requirements

5+ years of experience in frontend engineering
Strong expertise in React.js and TypeScript
Experience building reusable component libraries and scalable design systems
Strong understanding of frontend architecture and UI architecture principles
Experience with design tokens, theming, and component customization
Hands-on experience with Chakra UI, Ant Design, Tailwind, or similar frameworks
Strong experience with Storybook and component documentation
Experience collaborating with designers using Figma, including variants and auto layout
Experience building reusable product workflows/templates such as checkout, booking, or payment flows
Understanding of white-label and multi-brand product development
Familiarity with micro frontend architecture
Good understanding of localization and internationalization concepts (i18next, react-intl, multi-language support, date/currency formatting)
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work independently in a cross-functional environment

Nice to have

Experience supporting multi-region UI behavior
Experience working in product-focused environments with reusable workflow platforms
Knowledge of accessibility best practices and responsive design principles
