Client

Our client, a big sports retailer in Europe, plans migration a series of stores from Salesforce Commerce Cloud to Shopify, some of them should have headless storefronts.

Project overview

As a Shopify Solutions Architect of Digital Commerce capability, you'll help the client to develop an architecture of a new Shopify-based product, recommend necessary apps or specify requirements for custom ones, plan the required integrations with other client's ecosystem (PIM, OMS, etc). You'll work closely with the delivery team and business stakeholders and provide the guidance on best ways of solving business problems with Shopify. You'll be able to leverage your Shopify expertise to predict the risks of data migration and recommend ways how to mitigate them.

Also, you will have an opportunity to contribute to building relationships with technology partners, collaborate with the Sales team on new customer acquisition, and work with many other clients in the Retail, FMCG space, and beyond.

We are seeking a highly-skilled E-commerce Solutions Architect with a focus on Shopify to join our team.

Responsibilities

Help the client to develop architecture of new Shopify-based solution
Recommend necessary apps, integrations
Provide expertise on eCommerce application architecture, integration development initiatives, analyzing business requirements and crafting appropriate, cost-effective, and logical solutions
Analyze and design B2B and B2C eCommerce platforms
Participate in the implementation of the solution from ideation to completion
Monitor performance and advise any necessary infrastructure changes
Prepare the standards and guidelines for technical designing based on various business goals and specific inputs from the clients
Recommend necessary changes in the existing Digital commerce capability according to actual technology and market trends
Coordinate with the web developers, e-commerce marketing team, and e-commerce analysts for the effective completion and working of the e-commerce application
Elicit business needs and requirements, determine the architecture, scope, team composition, and timelines for the project
Mentor more junior engineers and promote Digital Commerce capability in technical community
Help with architecture review and troubleshooting process in complicated cases

Requirements

Solid experience as a Solutions Architect in commercial projects
Good understanding of modern e-Commerce architecture principles and best practices
Experience with NodeJS, NextJS (or analogs), Typescript, React (for PoC development)
Experience building enterprise projects with Shopify:
Experience with Shopify Plus
Experience with both headless and theme-based Shopify storefronts
Good understanding of Shopify apps including custom apps development
Understanding of Shopify platform limitations and the ways how to handle these limitations
Experience with migration on Shopify
Experience with building custom integrations for Shopify
Experience with headless CMS's (one of Sanity, Contentful, Contentstack)
Experience with building headless storefronts, good understanding of different approaches
Experience with high-level estimation
Expertise in developing accurate technical recommendations, alternatives, and improvements
Good spoken and written English

Nice to have

Experience with CommerceTools, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, BigCommerce, OroCommerce
Shopify and other e-commerce platforms certifications
Experience working with Order Management Systems
Cloud certifications
