Position overview

We are looking for a senior technology specialist who can take ownership of our digital asset engineering direction. This role focuses on building the foundation for new capabilities powered by decentralized technologies and ensuring the technical ecosystem can support future products with strong security, performance, and scalability.

The individual in this position will evaluate emerging blockchain tools and distributed systems, determine how they fit into our long-term architecture, and lead the implementation of these solutions. You will work alongside product teams and senior stakeholders to translate business ideas into practical technical frameworks and ensure that our digital asset portfolio develops in a coherent and strategic way.

Success in this role requires deep experience with blockchain development, strong decision‑making ability, and leadership skills that inspire collaboration across engineering, product, and external partners. The ideal candidate understands both the technical complexities and the strategic opportunities presented by decentralized technologies.

The estimated salary range for this position is from 150,000 to 190,000 USD per year.

The role is hybrid and requires the ability to visit the client’s office in New York, NY, preferably three times per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of blockchain infrastructure and smart contract solutions.
  • Conduct technical assessments of blockchain platforms, distributed ledger technologies, and ecosystem tools.
  • Build and maintain smart contracts using Solidity, Rust, or similar languages, ensuring high security and performance standards.
  • Develop and test blockchain integrations using JSON-RPC APIs and Web3 libraries such as web3.js and ethers.js.
  • Oversee blockchain node infrastructure and ensure reliability, scalability, and secure operation.
  • Collaborate with product and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions that support digital asset initiatives.
  • Work with external vendors and partners to evaluate and integrate blockchain technologies.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in blockchain security, compliance, and operational governance.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams involved in blockchain development.
  • Stay current with advancements in blockchain technology and identify opportunities to enhance platform capabilities.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering or technology leadership roles.
  • Background in blockchain or Web3 companies, focused on infrastructure and smart contract development.
  • Experience working with JSON-RPC APIs to interact with blockchain nodes and using Web3 libraries (e.g., web3.js, ethers.js) to build and test blockchain integrations.
  • Strong track record of collaborating with product and business teams to deliver technology solutions.
  • Experience leading technical assessments and implementations of distributed ledger technologies.
  • Familiarity with financial services or product development in a financial context is preferred.
  • Proficiency in smart contract development using Solidity, Rust, or other smart contract languages.
  • Deep understanding of blockchain protocols, infrastructure, and tooling.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative team player with a proven ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a growth mindset, strong initiative, and the ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
