Position overview

We are looking for a Principal Consultant in Data & Analytics to join the DataArt D&A Lab. The role is the senior in-account technical presence at one or several named strategic customers. You will build the trust relationship that lets DataArt be invited into the customer's most consequential data and AI decisions, and convert that trust into recurring multi-quarter engagements.

This is an existing-account role. Your focus is nurturing strategic accounts the Lab already serves and growing the revenue inside them. Pre-sales, GTM strategy, and new-logo acquisition are handled elsewhere in the practice; you are not staffed against them.

Within 6 months in the role, a Consultant will have:
Established a senior trust relationship with C-level stakeholders at least at one account.
Built and gotten signoff on a 12 to 24-month account plan with the account manager.
Landed, or directly contributed to, at least two multi-quarter data engagements at the assigned accounts.
Captured at least one partner-funded motion (Snowflake, Databricks, or hyperscaler) on a real engagement.
Met or exceeded target billable utilization.

How We Work
Embedded doesn’t mean isolated. A Consultant spends meaningful time on-site or in regular working contact with the account, but is fully part of the Lab's community of practice. You contribute to portfolio decisions and draw on the Lab's accelerators and partnership infrastructure.
Partner-aware. The Lab operates inside multiple named partner programs (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, GCP, Azure) with active progression toward higher tiers. Consultants are expected to factor partner mechanics into account plans and to land partner-funded motions where the account qualifies.
Asset-driven. The Lab maintains a portfolio of solution accelerators, reference architectures, and reusable blueprints. A Consultant pulls these into the account when they fit and contributes new ones back when they identify a repeatable customer problem.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted partner relationships with senior client stakeholders (CIOs, CTOs, senior data leaders) and with the DataArt account managers who own the commercial relationship.
  • Co-develop a 12 to 24 month account plan with the account manager and senior leadership, framed around the data and analytics opportunities inside the customer.
  • Generate revenue within the assigned account portfolio by identifying data opportunities and enabling a range of data and analytics engagements; achieve target revenue goals against the portfolio.
  • Lead complex data architecture and strategy programs in the role of principal consultant: discovery sessions with senior stakeholders, architecture reviews, decision facilitation when projects hit hard tradeoffs.
  • Run collaborative working sessions with the customer's stakeholders to define and solve their data problems.
  • Contribute to strategic deliverables inside the account, including mission statements, assessment results, and roadmaps.
  • Identify where the account qualifies for partner-funded motions (Snowflake Service Funding, Databricks Accelerate, In-Deal Funding, co-sell). Partner with the Lab's partnership managers to assemble submissions and capture funded outcomes.
  • Pull Lab accelerators, blueprints, and reference architectures into the account where they fit. Bring repeatable customer problems back to the Lab as accelerator candidates.
  • Lead team development while supporting strategic client accounts.
  • Achieve the target billable utilization.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in data and analytics consulting, advisory, or senior engineering roles, with at least 5 years in customer-facing senior consulting positions.
  • Hands-on experience driving data strategy, data governance, data maturity, and data-driven transformation engagements.
  • Hands-on experience influencing data solution design and technology selection for enterprise data platforms, warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, and data science platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience growing a strategic customer relationship over multiple years, with measurable account expansion you can speak to specifically.
  • Comfort operating at the C-level. You have led discovery, architecture-review, and decision-facilitation sessions with CIOs, CTOs, or senior data leaders.
  • Strong communication. You can write a position paper, run an executive workshop, and explain a technical tradeoff to a non-technical stakeholder without losing precision.
  • Experience in structuring multi-stream engagements and the senior judgment to know when to staff differently, when to escalate, and when to walk away from scope.
  • Active certifications and recognized expertise on Snowflake, Databricks, AWS, Azure, or GCP (e.g. SnowPro Advanced, Databricks Certified Professional, GenAI Associate Engineer, EDW Sales Migration badges, AWS Data Analytics Specialty, or similar).
  • Experience with partner-program mechanics: Brickbuilder Specializations, Snowflake competence frameworks, partner-funded delivery motions.
  • Track record of contributing reusable assets (accelerators, blueprints, reference architectures) back to a practice or service catalogue.
  • Vertical depth in one or more of: Finance, Retail, Healthcare, Travel, Media. Strategic accounts are vertical-shaped, and a Consultant with prior depth in the customer's vertical lands faster.

Nice to have

  • Public technical presence (conference talks, technical writing, open-source contributions) that establishes external credibility with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Multilingual capability for accounts where the customer's primary working language is not English.
  • Prior experience in a Big Four or strategic-consulting environment, alongside engineering depth.
