Project overview

The project focuses on expanding and modernizing a large scale cloud based data platform that supports data driven decision making across the organization. The environment is built on Google Cloud Platform, with BigQuery as the analytical core, and follows Agile and DataOps practices to ensure high quality, governed, and scalable data solutions.

Team

You will work within one of several Data & Analytics teams composed of Analytics Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Architects, Product Owners, and Business Stakeholders. Teams collaborate closely to design, build, govern, and optimize data assets while supporting a wide range of business domains and analytical needs.

Position overview

We are looking for Analytics Engineers (Middle to Senior level) to join different teams within a large Data & Analytics organization. You will help build and maintain analytical data products, data models, and transformation processes that enable reliable, consistent, and accessible data across business and digital journeys. Depending on your experience and strengths, you will contribute to platform migration initiatives, analytical products and metrics development, or data modeling and governance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain analytical data models in BigQuery, ensuring they are clean, well structured, reusable, and scalable
  • Write, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL queries for analytical and data integration workloads
  • Build and support ELT and ETL transformation processes
  • Collaborate with business, analytics, and technology teams to gather requirements and validate transformation logic
  • Document data models, entities, business rules, and data definitions from both functional and technical perspectives
  • Apply data quality, governance, security, and compliance practices across data assets
  • Follow Git based development practices and participate in code reviews and design reviews
  • Depending on team assignment, take ownership of one of the following focus areas:
  • Platform migration, including migrating processes into Dataform or a similar framework such as dbt
  • Analytical products, including KPI and metrics design and development of analytical consumption layers
  • Modeling and governance, including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling and the implementation of corporate data standards
  • Senior level responsibilities include working independently with stakeholders, contributing to architecture decisions, and supporting modeling standards across teams

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or in a similar role
  • 5+ years of experience for Senior level positions
  • Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning
  • Proven experience in analytical and transactional data modeling
  • Hands on experience with BigQuery and familiarity with GCP data services
  • Experience building and maintaining ELT and ETL processes
  • Experience using Python for analysis, automation, or data engineering tasks
  • Proficiency with Git and software development best practices
  • Understanding of data quality, governance, documentation, and compliance practices
  • Strong knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
  • Dataform or a transferable framework such as dbt
  • Metrics and KPI design using tools such as Looker, Power BI, or Data Studio
  • Conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, including Medallion Architecture, Policy Tags, IAM, and BigQuery optimization
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Fluency in Spanish and intermediate English for documentation and international collaboration

  • Experience with AI assisted development practices
  • Experience applying Generative AI solutions to data related work
  • Experience supporting enterprise scale analytical platforms
  • Exposure to DataOps methodologies and governance frameworks
