Position overview

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead an engineering team of 20+ professionals across multiple concurrent work streams for a client in the travel industry. You will be the primary link between our delivery teams and the client, accountable for delivery, communication, and overall team health.

You will thrive here if you are pragmatic and proactive. You take ownership of communication, bring structure where it is missing, and keep delivery moving steadily in fast changing, real world conditions.

This position requires some overlap with US business hours.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery: Own a 20+ engineering team across three concurrent work streams, ensuring tight alignment and delivery.
  • Own client communication: Proactively lead communication with the client. Keep stakeholders ahead of status, blockers, and decisions rather than reacting to requests.
  • Solve, do not just flag: When encountering a roadblock or process gap, ensure that a well considered solution is proposed alongside the identified issue.
  • Adapt your approach to context: Apply Agile pragmatically, tailoring your approach to fit each client’s ways of working while keeping the team focused and motivated.
  • Mitigate risks proactively: Stay connected to both the engineering team’s daily realities and the client’s underlying concerns to mitigate risks before they escalate.
  • Build on existing processes: Work within our existing, lightweight Program Management framework. We value continuous, incremental improvements over large scale process changes.

Requirements

  • Senior PM experience: Proven track record managing complex, high stakes accounts where balancing strict delivery targets with challenging client expectations is required.
  • Stakeholder trust: A track record of building credibility with senior, technical client stakeholders, including in structured or governance heavy environments.
  • Solution oriented approach: You focus on proposing solutions, not just identifying problems.
  • Domain expertise: Ideally, background in the travel domain, with specific experience in the airline industry being highly desirable.
  • Agile maturity: Strong proficiency in Agile, combined with the practical judgment to adapt it when the context requires.
  • Ownership of time: You are responsible for managing your schedule and ensuring critical tasks are delivered on time.
  • AI awareness: Familiarity with modern, AI assisted and agent based development practices, and the ability to apply them thoughtfully.
