Our client is implementing Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) Growth to enable scalable, integrated CRM lifecycle activation within a B2B environment. This role focuses on backend architecture, technical activation layers, and key integrations to support seamless marketing automation and data processing.

Position overview

The Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable SFMC backend solutions, managing integrations, and supporting data workflows that underpin CRM lifecycle marketing activations. This role translates business requirements, defined by Strategy Leads and Consultants, into robust technical implementations in SFMC.

Responsibilities

  • Design and configure scalable SFMC backend architecture, including Data Extensions and Contact Builder relationships.
  • Support data ingestion via SFTP/manual CSV uploads and REST API integrations, ensuring synchronization with Salesforce CRM.
  • Build and optimize SQL queries for segmentation, lead scoring, suppression, and reporting.
  • Develop automation logic and backend workflows to support lifecycle marketing and lead qualification.
  • Implement lead scoring frameworks and ensure scoring outputs support reporting, journey orchestration, and CRM handoffs.
  • Maintain backend data structures for advanced reporting, campaign analytics, and attribution measurement.
  • Validate data integrity, troubleshoot backend issues, and support technical QA and deployment activities.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementation experience, with a focus on backend architecture.
  • Expertise in Data Extensions, Contact Builder, and SFMC automation workflows.
  • Strong SQL skills for data querying and processing.
  • Experience with REST API integrations and external system connectivity.
  • Knowledge of B2B lifecycle marketing automation and CRM data models.
  • Experience with lead scoring implementations, data cleansing, deduplication, and suppression logic.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities related to SFMC backend issues.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud Growth and Engagement.
  • Knowledge of AMPscript, Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS), and Salesforce Flow.
  • Familiarity with advanced reporting frameworks and CRM lifecycle automation.
  • Experience integrating SFMC with Data Cloud / Customer 360.
  • Certifications: Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer and Administrator (required); Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant, Platform Developer I, and Administrator (preferred).
  • Nice to have: Salesforce AI Associate and Platform App Builder certifications.
